If you applied the same "formula" to this 16-S it would be 500.00 x .57 = 285.00

It may only be a VF30 but there's quite a lot of dirt on it,may need an acetone/distilled water bath to see if it has any potential for a higher grade?

ok, nice idea I do not think it applies: the 16s is a much rarer coin than the 36s and it is in hot demand. I cannot believe anyone would sell this coin for $285

Out of Great Collections, Ebay and Heritage not a single one has a VF that has sold below 300 not even VF 20s much less VF 30s. Even the majority of the VF Details coins sell for over 300. The last time a straight graded VF sold below 300 on Heritage was in 2005. A VF 25 sold on Great Collections this month for a touch over 400. Heritage has sold two VF details coins this year one went for 260 the other for 320.

285 isn't happening for a VF 1916-S unless you're paying in British Pounds.

Numismedia Wholesale is $360 and $560 in VF20 and XF40, if that will help. Look on eBay and see what previous coins in the grades have brought and/or do a search in Heritage auction archives.

Dime, agreed on the rarity...I'm not saying you could get it for 285.00, I was just saying how I arrived at certain bids for Walkers. If you did 500.00 x .65% = 325.00

That being said, I don't think the coin is worth "full freight" at 500.00

rzage What Goes Around Comes Around .

It's the old supply and demand . Anyone who wants a complete Type set would want an obverse MM Walker , though I'd like a '16-S I'll probably end up with a '17-S as 1917 is my Dad's birth year . Good luck on your search !

No need for a bath nor a chance to update as it is not worth it.

How about an actual link for those of us who just can't seem to buy into this one?

Please trust me when I tell you I'm certainly not expecting one... but hey, it's easier to double-down on BS than it is to admit a mistake or a jump to judgement.
