I am a member, and have been since about 1994, with a hiatus thrown in there. I now am a National Volunteer for the ANA, meaning I supplement the staff of the ANA for the National Money Show and World's Fair of Money each year. I truly can't see any reason for any numismatist to NOT be a member. Sure, Board members have disagreements. We're coin people, and therefore genetically prone to be highly opinionated. A quick look around here should provide all the proof anyone needs on that. We're also a hobby in "demographic distress", in danger of imploding because old numismatists are dying faster than new ones are going into the hobby. We need strategies to either stop us old codgers from dying, or find a way to interest more youngsters. Stop by and say "Howdy" at Dallas. Or look me up at The Adolphus Hotel and we can grab a brewski or two. I'll be registered under Vincent Bellman (my true first name when I'm not just throwing around the initial).
