The 1795 is great, but I'd have trouble dealing with the planchet flaw on that 1792, for a coin so expensive and important.

I'm with Harris. Either way, those qualify as "look and drool" for your humble narrator.

If I played at that level it would all depend on how much money I had. If i could drop 200k give or take a bit on a nicer one of course I would prefer that, but if my budget maxed out on the planchet flaw one I could be happy with that.

    Completely agree on the 1795

I'm not a fan of the planchet flaw either. The 95 is sweet. And not that rare pcgs has 10 in 65 and 21 in 64. Coinfacts lists it in 65 as $49k it'd be a stretch but possible for me If I so desired

The 1795 is obviously beautiful, but have the 1792 is truly a great rare piece of numismatic history. The striking methods back then was archaic, and seeing the flaw is unique and fascinating.

The error collector in me giggles uncontrollably at the idea of a laminated 1792 Half Disme. :)

Who about the cud on the 95? I like the errors as well.

I am not fond of errors either, but the 1792 half disme is to coinage, what Naismith is to basketball. It is historic, iconic, and for us cash strapped collectors, it would be the coin of a lifetime, and the centerpiece of our collections........now where did I put those Lotto tickets?
