Just picked up a decent looking 1906 2 Centavos today, not sure how to tell whether it's the Inverted 6 variety. Anyone own one or know of a good online comparison website? Thanks in advance! (will get photos of mine up sometime soon)
Inverted 6 variety: This site has some detail about it: http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces10140.html 6 in date was first struck inverted and then a second strike with the correct alignment was made, but it is easy to appreciate the original inverted 6 under it, specially in the empty space between the top and the "belly" of the number
And do you know if they are referring to the 6 in 1906 or the 9? (i.e., is this going to show similar characteristics to an overdate, or is it the super thick 9 that's the indicator?)
Theyre refering to the 6. I believe that it is supposed to look like an overdate. You whould be able to see it the most in the opening of the "6", between the top and the circular part.
