    It's the rim on the coin it's not like other 1993p Notice on this 1993p the rounded edges on the rim I've heard slanging talk for this coin as being referred to as a fhin this is only the second one I've ever seen and the first time I've heard it referred to as a fhin I know it's a well circulated cent and this is only my observation if the original RIM that I'm showing you was caused by something else I believe the uniformity would not be there but this is only my opinion and observation et1993p-10-10.jpg

    Typically finning occurs when the force applied by the coining press forces metal into the very thin gap between the die and collar. The resulting fin usually is very thin and sharp and just a little circulation will break it off. I believe the photo of your coin is showing instead, a collar clash.

    Could be a dryer coin with a collar clash too I suppose as it doesn't quite look like an encased cent. Either way it's not much but sure, throw it in with your oddities
