Not even close to worth it. First of all it's a Morgan, the most common and overrated coin on the face of the earth. Second, it's barely toned and only on one side. Third, it's a very low MS grade.

If you are only looking for a great toner, check out toned ASEs. Usually just a few bucks premium over clean, but more intense than morgans. People who pay large premiums on toned coins are just buying a moment in time, as even in a slab, they will eventually continue toning, and could be better for a while , or turn badly quicker.

Basically every raw toner on ebay is an AT coin that couldn't get into a straight graded slab.

Wouldn't surprise me that's one source I don't use for coins tho. Only way I'm buying raw is in hand. What I don't buy local from estates and auctions or at shows comes from the big coin auctions

I agree, but there are one or two sellers on eBay that I would buy raw toners from with confidence.

This. It is priced more than 3x where I feel it belongs.

It's not a bad source, you just generally want to stick to graded coins on there. Most things are raw for a reason on Ebay.

I would believe that. There's some gems mixed in, the problem is just finding them sorting through the 99.9 percent of homemade toners

That's true, but you can also generally count on the good sellers to continue being good sellers and the drek peddlers to continue peddling drek. So, once you find a good one, keep an eye on their auctions. :)
