2006 W ASE - Sealed boxes

Has anyone seen a difference between open box prices vs sealed boxes from the MInt for these coins? Or is this just a phenomenon with the anniversary sets? Just curious. I have a couple in a sealed Mint box and it is taking up a lot of room in my lock box.
    Thanks,

Looks like it is only the 3 Piece sets that get the unopened premium to me. The 06-W unc coins are getting the low mintage premium only at this point.

They command only a very small premium over the opened boxes... I think the average price for an opened coin is around $105 and for the sealed box is $120 or so per coin...

That's what I figured. I believe I will take them out of the Mint box and free up some room.
    Thanks all!

3-pc silver set now worth near $700.00 for opened box and a little more for unopened box.

Do not want to start an argument in here but I am seeing something very different than a small premium of the opened sets vs the unopened sets. The last single set I saw in the unopened mint box went for something like $746 and the opened raw sets, I believe you can get them set for something like $600 or maybe a little less.

One of the reason is because the Ms 70 with the silver anniversary label in this set is selling for almost the same as the reverse proof in the 70 grade. Why I do not have a clue but this is one case where there are people out there who are willing to buy the slab as much as the coins. That is OK with me . Their money is a good as anyone Else's.

Just my opinion and I never claimed to know what I am talking about

I wouldn't take the coins out of the box, if they are still unopened. You should get at least a small premium, but a premium at that. There are some people in the market for unopened single 2006 w coins because it guarentees that they haven't been cherrypicked. If you hold on to them, I'll even buy them from you.

    Bama Guy,
I know you watch ebay a lot. There is a premium on the 3 piece set if it is sealed. Seems it can run from $150 or more. I'm curious about the single 2006 W unc. I have looked at numerous ebay auctions but have not seen any for sealed Mint boxes for the single coin. Only the 3 piece set.
    Thanks

I have been watching a couple single auctions. One box of 15 uncirc coins sold for 2000 or 2100. So there is a small premium.

Ive observed prices for these items for the last 3 months... About 2 months back the unopened boxes were selling at $150 ($50 premium over the opened coin). The premium has come down since then on almost all unopened boxed items from the US Mint (including gold issues) except for the 3 coin set (simply due to the grading oppurtunities for the "black" label)...

Are you talking about the set with the reverse proofs? I am confused.

O.K. Got you Dragon. Sorry I mis read your question . The few single I have are out of the box. Do take up a lot of room in those big boxes.

Really? Where are they going for that? eBay? Wish I had hung onto mine longer, but oh well. I got 5 sets, sold 2 right away which essentially left me with 3 sets all paid for.

    Ruben,
No, not the 3 piece set with the reverse proof. The single 2006 W UNC that the MInt sold. You mght recall that last year was the first year the Mint sold the ASE with a W mint mark directly to the public. That is the coin I am talking about.

I have been selling sealed boxes of z6f's and they do sell for 20$ per coin more.

    Just my 2 cents
