Well, he doesn't seem to be misrepresenting what the coins are (though I can't tell if that 1968 S cent he's holding in his palm rather than by the edge is a DDO or not). If someone really wants to pay $8000 for a 1943 cent that's clearly well-circulated according to the pic, or $1000 for an unpictured 1938 cent in "excellent" condition without doing research, I don't know what to say. Some people have more money than brains.

One ongoing problem with Craigslist is the legal reality that the more active role a place like that takes in policing itself, the more squarely it puts itself into the legal chain of liability. There is precedent for protecting online classifieds (and similar for online forums) and it tends to encourage a hands-off attitude. Ebay skated with that for years, although the revisions to HPS and the pending counterfeit-goods suit against them is likely to alter the character of such things going forward.

The only real use for Craigslist was as an advertising medium for ladies of the night. And after several criminal cases, one knows how well that turned out.

I couldn't sell a brand-new 5X Stetson in the 5th-largest city in the country on Craigslist. However, my last two dwellings, both decent, were found there. That should say it all.

Just like "error coins" on Ebay. Doesn't matter that the "error" doesn't exist; folks just want to be told it does, and then you shut up and take their money.

It'd be more profitable if I were less altruistic.
