What is the grade and value of this 1886 Indian Head Cent ?

  1. Can someone please give me a good idea about the grade and value of this coin ?

    I was going to go with AU58 BN. I *think* there is just a tiny smidgen of wear on the eyebrow and lower portion of the hair.

    I'm out of the country and away from my books, so I cannot remember what the difference is between type I and type II for this year. However, *IF* I am correct on the grade, Numismedia puts the type I at $192 and a type II at $252.

    Very nice coin. Maybe someone else can chime in about the type attribution.

    AU-55, most likely.

    Looks attractive, no problems jump out at me.

    Nice coin. It's a Type 1. AU from the image.
     
  8. Thank you all for your answers. I was also going for AU but wasn't quite sure. I was very surprised when I found this coin in such a great condition in a lot of old English coins that I bought few weeks ago given that all the other coins in that lot were very low grade.
    Since I don´t collect coins like this I was thinking about selling it or trade it if I could get a fair price for it.
