Silver prices aren't a marginal factor, they're a completely non existent factor for a MS 65 CC DMPL Morgan.
Directly, yes...but when silver gets hot you get more silver bullion investors and some of them gravitate towards silver numismatics.
Have you bought off eBay in the past ? You can usually submit 2 Offers so give it a shot. Can't hurt. Sometimes after 3 Offers they prohibit you from sending in another.
Yes I have made offers before some of mine they excepted my first offer, then I have had some decline all three offers.
Hey James...if you are buying it because it's a mid grade CC, take your time...there are plenty of 1884's out there.
Been married and divorced I absolutely love the single life I myself wouldn't have it any other way as far as the coins I'm just happy I have decided to buy the best Morgan and Peace dollars I can afford and a St Gaudens when i can get one as far as gold goes, I would love to just stick with a St Gaudens but I love the Peace and Morgans to much.
That's true in the long run, I am sure a good percentage started out with bullion. Generally though they wont start in deep end of the pool but it does happen. The increased attention on coins was probably the one positive to come out of the metal run up. Unless they have changed it you have to wait for it to be relisted after the 3rd offer before you can make another one.
At this point in my life, I spend SOME time collecting but not lots. I've floated in-and-out over the years. So for me, quality (including higher-priced stuff) is my strategy over quantity (with dozens or hundreds or thousands of lesser expensive coins). Most of my coins are quasi-bullion, quasi-numismatic. I admire those who do full or near-full sets by year, mint-mark, etc. of Peace, Liberty, Franklins, pennies, dimes, etc....but I guess if I were to do it it would be for the coins I've gravitated towards, the Saints and Morgans. Which is a wee bit of a problem at the current time, seeing as collecting sets of those or even lots of them requires lots of $$$$. This is where the 2nd phase of my coin collecting strategy comes in, namely, winning the Powerball Lottery.
Hey Jerry you know who had some really nice Morgan CC's in GSA holder graded? You know Mark he lives on the shore, always sets up in Annapolis and Ralph ' s shows. He handed me about a dozen of them asking me if I was in the market. Some really nice coins . Graded in the GSA holders. Really decent prices too!
