    If it's 1902, it's a Barber dime. Certainly is not an 1802 dime.

    It looks like a Barber dime, so it must be 1902.

    Thank you both. I am trying to get better pictures but not sure what I am doing wrong.

    There are four things I noticed.

    1) You need to use a copy stand or tripod to stabilize the camera and prevent blurry photos. If you're using a camera phone, there is no help for you if you can't hold the camera steady.

    2) You need to take the photo from directly overhead. Taking the photo on an angle can distort the image.

    3) The best position for your lights are at 10 & 2 o'clock at about a 45 degree angle to the subject. This will allow sufficient light on the subject while preventing light from bouncing into the lens.

    4) You need some form of photo software to edit your image. Once you've taken the image, it is best to crop the image to remove unnecessary background. Then you can resize the image to show more detail. I believe that PhotoScape is a free download.
