  2. I found this crh it has no reeded edge all the way around and it is all copper like a penny all the way around. I dont see any scratch marks on the edge like it might have been sanded or something so Im not sure what caused this.

  5. I thought of that but its evenly worn wich I thought would be odd and I would think that some sign of the edge would be visable. its completly smooth all the way around.

The CN Cladding on these coin is really thin but extremely hard. Contrast that with the soft 100% Copper Core and you have the perfect setup for a smooth edged coin after either countless hours in a coin machine or perhaps a dryer or just simple wear.

The cladding is so thin that, typically, on the edge, these coins appear to be half CN and half copper. This is the direct result of the blanking process where the bottom cladding gets stretched up onto the edge of the blank as it is forced through the bottom of the blanking machine. Remembering that these are gang punched out of cnclad strips.

The other edge shows the true thickness of the cladding which is surprisingly thin.

  10. ok I have just never seen any dime with an edge like this one so I guess we will never know but I thought it was interesting none the less. I did get a 54d dime in the same roll so at least I found someting lol.

A 54 is better than a stick in the eye!

I was at the beach today and found a 1994 dime, it also has the edge missing but it is totally gone, it has two sharp edges on either side of the coin where the reeding should be. Never seen anything like this. It would be impossible for someone to have removed it and not left a sign of tampering with it. The coin has been in the sand for a long time. Any thoughts?

Is the edge perpendicular to the faces? Is the edge flat or rounded? Is the diameter of the dime the same, smaller or larger than a regular dime?

Not at all.. It's just PMD - Post Mint Damage
Dimes are thin to start with so the edge was just worn away somehow

Post-strike damage that primarily affects the edge and the obverse and reverse perimeter.
