Picked these up at yesterday's flea market for 9$ for the pair. Don't know if I overpaid but I thought they would make a nice addition to my paper money collection with being star notes and having lower and kinda fancy (?) serial numbers.
They sell on eBay for about the same price, so you did OK. Sometimes cheaper, sometimes more. I bought an uncirculated pack of 100 for $385 from a friend/collector. Serial #'s K00361301* - K00361400*.
Your $2s came from a run of 512,000. Not that good, but still pretty low. The 2009 B..* and 2009 L..* $2s had runs of 128,000.
Of course not the same but ain't that funny how people JUMP at the opportunity to get a 1909-S VDB at 484 thousand! I guess it is all about how much people run up the price on certain items that aren't really an extreme rarity. Like my Grandfather always told me - "it's only worth what someone will pay for it!"
