Hi all. Been watching this site for a while and this is my first post now and was wondering what you think of this coin. I have a soda machine so I get coins to search through every week. This is by far the most exciting. The heads side has the shiney silver looking clad on it but when you flip it over the state side is complete copper. The rim is half and half. Thanks in advance!

From what it looks like from here (I'm not on my normal computer) it is missing the clad layer---value I would say be around $100. Please hold the coin ONLY by the rim (edge) as if you don't you will get fingerprints on the coin that while they might not show now will show up later.

Welcome aboard. That's a very unusual error coin.I don't know how rare these error coins are,but they are very interesting.

Ok sent this in and it graded a MS-63. So what do you think it's worth now that NGC graded it and it's not a fake? Don't have it in my hands yet or I would send a pic. Thanks again!

    Congratulations, and well done.
As for value, wait for Mike Diamond to show up.
He will give you a value.

Well, here are my thoughts. It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
If you are going to sell it I would list it on ebay with a starting bid of $0.99. list it in the ERROR part of ebay with a 2nd "listing" in the Quarter part.
Value could be anywhere from under $100 and it could go for a few hundred...State Quarters missing clad layers go for alot more than just a normal washington quater missing the clad layer...I think I paid $15-$25 for mine.

EDITED TO ADD---I went back and read some old threads and it looks like these had been selling for around $250-$300.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

    Speedy
