The other day I was putting together some coins to send to a friend here at CT. I had promised this member that I would and also since he's a member of our armed forces ,just a small way to say "Thanks For Your Service."
I will not name names but to all of you whom are serving and have served my hat's off to you! I appreciate you sacrifices in serving.
    Any way back to coins.....
As I was going through some of my extras I ran across a couple of rolls of Lincoln cents from my youth. 1968 S and 1969 P,D & S . I had purchased these when I was 15. For years now they been lying around with all sorts of others coins I have collected.
I had promised to send this person some extra nickels ,and I thought he may like a few cents also. So I included a few in the package to him.
    No surprise now eh? :)
Any way being off on this snowy Presidents day, I was going through some of the penny rolls....care to see what I found? I will post some pictures and before I tell you maybe you can tell me or have fun looking at the mint marks and doing a little research yourself. 1968 S rev 1.jpg 1968 s rev 2 clashes.jpg
these first two are from an 1968 S Lincoln , notice the clash marks in the pillars as well as the doubling.

    1968 S rev 3.jpg

    Here's a shot of the date. 1968 S RPM 001 S S North.jpg

    see anything?
    Next some images of the 1969 S mint marks. 1969 D RPM 006 D D south.jpg 1969 S RPM 001 S S west 2.jpg 1969 S RPM -001 S S west.jpg 1969 s RPM 002 S S west 2.jpg 1969 S RPM 003 S S west 2.jpg 1969 S RPM 003 S S west.jpg

Another thing I noticed going through these was, how these dies were heavily reworked or polished. Notice the polish lines and must of been done in haste as they are in every direction you can imagine.
I haven't finished going through these yet as there are quite a few to look at. but from my research so far I'm thinking I got quite a few RPM's to catalog . :)

Forget about the mintmark, @Paddy54 ! You've got a "Levitating Lincoln"!

Yes it was modeled after a David Copperfield performance on the Mall.
