Help coin ID

Hi! I'm new to this and looking for some help. My dad found this coin metal detecting and we have no idea what it is. I have taken some pics and messed about with the contrast. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

What lettering can be seen is definitely not ancient. Some sort of token that's seen much better days?
