Good morning old friends, It has been way to long since I have been here so I might as well give everyone that still remembers me an update. About 3 years ago I opened a collectors store here in Iceland. I gave it my all and then some but unfortunately I just couldnt make it work. The market is just to small in Iceland and tax laws are just to hard on collectors stores. But being one of the hardest thing I have ever done in my life it was also one of the most revarding tasks I have ever taken on. Now for the "but" part In November I started working as the curator for the joint numismatic museums of the Central bank of Iceland and national museum of Iceland. I am extremly honored to be working there and I basicly go to work with a big smile on my face every day. It has been 9 years since I started working with numismatic items and I can honestly say that it has taken me on an adventure I would never have been able to guess. Not in a million years. So that´s it for now. Nice to be back All the best Siggi
Great to hear from you Siggi. Will miss your beautiful store but you can always try to revive it in another form if the time and opportunity arises down the road and who knows what you will be able to bring from your experience running the store to your new position and take from the new position for future ventures. By the way, your new position sounds fantastic! Congrats to that. If there is an online aspect available for the public to see what your new work is about, please share any links you think this forum would be interested in. Give it your best and good luck with it. Regards.
It's great that things are going well. You got to do some things that most of us will never be able to do. I'm happy for you and hope you hang out here.
Don't remember you but at my age there are LOTS of things I don't remember. It's nice that things have worked out well for you. I was in Iceland in August.
Oh boy, I want to go to Iceland and stake out a gold, oil or ruby claim bad!.. Wish I had enough capitol for an expedition
Welcome back to Coin Talk, my friend. It's been far too long since we've had the benefit of your unique perspective on numismatics. I'm saddened to hear of the closing of your store, but it appears that a new, more exciting phase in your life has begun. The old saying that when one door closes another opens seems to be the case here. The best of luck to you in your new endeavor, and be sure to keep in touch here. We miss you tremendously. Kindest regards, Bruce
Welcome back. Sorry to hear about your store. But you have a job you really like - that is great in and of itself. Enjoy!

Thank you very much for your kind reply, I will be sure to link anything I think would be interesting here. I know there will be lots for everyone to see in the future.
That is a fantastic story. God has a plan for each of us, I believe. Best of luck in your new adventure. Best Regards, George
Congratulations for your success in locating an "occupation" that is satisfying, as it's believed most find their "job" a 4 letter undesirable word, namely "WORK". I've found few of like ilk to mine, that can say at the end of each " job", they enjoyed the effort". I believe you'll find the employment "journey" enjoyable. BEST WISHES!! JMHO
