I'm on the West coast so I don't see a lot of Philly mint coins. Here's a good one. Not worth much with the stains but I have a 2000 WAM to keep it company. Now for the elusive 1999.
Good luck on that 99! I've done over $16k of cents and only found one. Hope your luck is better than mine
Does anyone count the hours spent on searching and whats your time worth . Doesn't seem to be a enough meat on the bone, for me . My times worth money to me and there's no money in search these Cents . Nice find on the WAM and thats worth it, but all the small DDOs are a waste and most are worth under 25 dollars ( ms-65 ) ...
True, I love looking for errors on the Cent Series, but, my time is worth money, if I'm looking at coins that takes away from my family time, at least for me and you too, ( Family Time ) . As a Error Collector, the real money cost money to make . Even the last 1969-S that came out of Michigan was purchased in a 9 dollar roll of 1969-S(s) .
I'm retired after working all my life. My kids are pretty much grown. I have a rock band I play with, my wife still works so I shop, and cook a lot. Searching rolls is fun, and a lot less expensive than most hobbies. I look through a box a week more or less. I can go through a box in 8 hours now. So I set all the interesting ones aside, get the crud off, take pics, compare to known varieties. I'm not a wheeler dealer type guy except with guitars (I know the value of those). I don't want to search halfs, or quarters, and take a loss turning them in. I don't care about getting a little silver. Copper coins can be very beautiful, more so in my opinion than silver colored coins. So I lose about $2.75 per $25.00 to Coinstar. Every couple of months I buy a box of 2X2's for $8.00.When I get a really good one I send it to ANACS. When I get some I'm really unsure of I send them to Mike Ellis. I really appreciate the die varieties I have found. All I really care about are Lincoln Cent die varieties. When I get disgusted because I looked through 5 boxes and don't find anything and feel like giving up, I find a great coin, and I'm hooked again. haha
