Happened to me, too, until I got the technique down.

"Like" in agreement, "dislike" that it happens.

If the airtite is too tight I use a pointed metal fingernail file. Most times I use my fingernail because that is always available just habit now. Anyway a exacto blade can slip causing a nasty cut. Thanks though

Constantly clouding my lens implants when changing batteries on my lighted loop. Does that count?

It would help if you put the joint down before you attempted to use the X-acto knife.

I can see that happening, but I go very slowly doing it. with practice you will get the hang of it. I use the bottom of the blade not the pointed end.:)

This one didn't happen to me (obviously), but I think a prominent numismatist back in the 1800's managed to accidentally drink the potassium cyanide solution he was cleaning his coins with. Very bad luck indeed, and definitely not a mistake you make twice.

Also a good reason not to clean coins...it could kill you!

Last year I had my coin binder where I keep my lists sitting on the floor in the living room, tripped over it and stubbed my toe against the metal ring. Oh that hurt!

I've read that in a book once. He had a cup of ginger ale and a cup of potassium cyanide. These were both the same color. When the numismatist went to drink the ginger ale, guess what happened. Just guess.
