hi everyone! i got a dollar bill that i think has an error on it. the serial number on the right is up higher than a normal dollar. and the serial number on the left is up higher too, and the frb seal is up higher too. i was wondering what kind of error this was!
Coinlover Been a while so I'm a bit rusty but that is a print shift error. Second print I believe - that's when the serial numbers and seals are laid down. They are fairly common but always a cool find. In order to really be considered an error something has to touch something else that it shouldn't. For example - if the green seal is touching the words WASHINGTON D.C. you have yourself an error. The more pronounced the "touching" and the shift the bigger the error. I used to find errors like this fairly often. Of course I had the opportunity to look through several hundred singles everyday. NICE FIND AND GOOD EYE! Post pics if you can.
nothing is touching on it, but i still think its cool. do you think it is worth keeping? sorry, my scanner won't let me take pictures of bills, just coins.:computer:
Hey, it only cost you a buck so keep it until you find a better one. You have a good eye it will happen!
all it is to look for is that the serial number on the left is higher than usual. already stamped it with wheresgeorge and sent it on its way.
