Reading through that MintNewsBlog article that TC posted I became really excited to see something new! First they showed the picture of the standard plan-jane silver coins, which are nice in all due respect to those who bought some.....but then I saw one covered in wild colors! Now granted the colors are a bit garish and maybe gimmicky, but the idea was kind'a neat! Much like the Canadian Mint & Perth Mint, I thought maybe the US Mint was going to do a colorized version and quite honestly, I wanted one!!! Sadly, it was just the color coded image of how the finishes were applied though :-( Couldn't you see something like this?
WOW! This is weird, I just finished my shopping list to make meatballs. Maybe it was all this talk about spaghetti. I usually make a big batch and freeze them with marinara - always have some around. I like to switch it up, so half the time I go the Green way, so I keep a good meat sauce in the freezer too.
I've only purchased 2 series of coins that have been colored: Canadian Mint Great Lakes silver series and the 2012 Australia Colored dragon series. I thought they were cool. I'm not a fan of the wild colors on the Twain you posted (I understand the colors are to delineate the different surfaces) and would not be interested in this one.
I saw that in 'Coin Update' (I think) the other day Trav......for illustrative purposes only and not to apply (as you say) those garish colours........ Purple and orange will never go together..........
Did someone say, "BACON"? Ok, it's BLT's for lunch tomorrow! I better eat some dinner before this goes on all night.
I received both my Proof and UNC pieces. The Proof is very, very cool. 3 different surface finishes. I find it very attractive. So much so, I ordered another.
Received my proof and uncirculated Twain dollars in Friday's mail. Ordered the coins Monday. Four day delivery turnaround is excellent.
