AHHHhh! And my family descends from the Bitberg area!!! Bitte Ein BIT!!! Dopey me, it is morning here, so Beer was not YET on my mind! Give me a couple minutes...
LOL, no... not a milk drinker... Lotsa water, tea, coffee... occassional Bier! Trying to be a good boy now...
Bit is light. (to me). I also liked the Alt biers... Not sure if I have had a Wurz... Tried a bunch, but not that one.
Alegandalf => wow, you brought this old thread back to life!! (what made you look it up one year later, to the day?) ... well one year and one day later ... => man, I love seeing old threads Curious Charles => did you return that coin?
Last year I acquired the Tet...saw it again the other day and thought it was cool. Searched to see if there was a similar thread (instead of starting one), and contributed. I promised others that I would post some of my coins... So, contributing, albeit a year later. fun.
@S6. Yes I did return that coin and exchange it with many other coins and stamps. As for the time being, I think I'm going to acquire one or more silver Tets of Alexander the Great.
Ooow, that's a very pretty example, Loong-S (nice) ... I love your two examples as well, Mentor => cheers (hey, it's Friday!!)
Welcome to CoinTalk Ancients, Devi! As for animals on ancient coins, there is an incredible array. Not long ago we had a thread about the subject: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/ancient-coin-animals-by-alphabet.267837/#post-2222372 The final listing of animals shown in the long thread can be found on p. 21 of that thread, although there were many coins shown after that summary.
Old thread but I found this one at a dealer who normally doesn't have ancients. Cheap enough I had to bring it home. Haven't done any research yet but it's 12.4g.
