So look at this picture of this keelboat nickel and notice the very tip of Jefferson's chin. It has this "step" in it. I do recall hearing somthing about how this nickel was supposed to have more detail. But I have seen this coin with and without that crazy step on the chin. Any ideas?
Nope, a die chip would be a raised lump. This just looks like something hit the end of his chin and flattened it. Post mint damage.
