I think this may be a real doubled die. I can't seem to get very clear pictures though. The features look rounded instead of machine doubling.
1982 was a tough year for coins being in a state of transition to copper plated zinc. A lot of anomalies appeared that year, but also quite few doubled dies. Sorry, but this is not one of them. Doubled dies also, generally have a fatter appearance and not so sharply struck. These pics are all 1982's

And I say that because I have a 1982 small date I am trying to figure out that doesn't match anything reported. Yours is a large date, different animal I assume, but it looks like you have some splits. Hard to say from those photos but it sure seems like there are some.
Uhg. The more I look at what I was focused on the more I think machine doubling. Good eye though. I'd still throw it in a jar labeld interesting or something along those lines.
