What is this worth I bought it for 550 2 days ago, should i send it to get slabbed? https://www.seizedpropertyauctions.com/images/users/47049-1.jpg
Hope this helps Viewing this coin I did detect a rim ding the on the coin, other than that apears to be aprox VF-20. Not sure you could get it graded with the rim ding but for the money you paid for it. I dont think you went wrong as in my opinion it should be worth 6 to 7 hundred even with the rim ding. If the ding was not there then you are looking at average retail price of 2,100 dollars. Hope this helps. Jeff
Well I would grade your coin at G....and I would send it back if you can. #1...coins are NOT a good investment....and they really aren't good unless you have read many books and KNOW a good bit about coins and the grading of coins. You coin has a really bad rim bump as the 1 Oclock place....and that would get it body bagged if you sent it in for grading...in other words...no grade. While the price isn't that bad....it wasn't good either. Here is one from Heritage... http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=439&Lot_No=8490 If you want to buy coins here are a few suggestions. Buy the BOOK before you buy the coin. Next step is to READ the books. Then if you don't want to do that then the only thing I can say is good luck and stay with buying coins that are graded by NGC, PCGS, ANACS, ICG. Speedy
Looks like a great investment. I normally wouldn't recommend slabbing a coin, but in this case considering it's rarity, where you got it from, and your basic knowledge about the series I'd have it looked at and slabbed. Looks like a VF-25 coin to me. Nice Coin and Greetings. Welcome to the forum... Ben
After seeing the post above mine....I think we posted at the same time I should say that the reason I grade it at G is because: A: its been cleaned pretty harshly B: because of the rim bump....and not just a little bump.... C: the dig above Lady Liberty, and the dig on the back above the I in America. Speedy
Might be a good idea but to protect you from any loses perhaps you should have a reserve for at least what you paid for it.
After a few minutes on the phone with the seller I attempted to return the coin, but they dont accept returns they offered an exchange for this plus 100 credit? Guess I should check here first https://www.seizedpropertyauctions.com/images/users/47050-1.jpg
My mistake on the VF as it may would grade out VF if not for the rim ding was in a hurry to try and answer his question. Anyway I dont think you lost much on this finding a buyer who will buy it with the rim ding is gonna be hard to find but hey you never know. Good luck
That one is dinged too need to find a coin with out any dings and in good condition. The person who told you to buy a book was trying to lead you in the right direction. If this helps you can always go to http:www.bestcoin.com to get some idea of a coins value before buying.
I would grade it at about F12. I wouldn't recommend slabbing this coin. Just sell it "as is" on ebay with some good photos and you should be able to make a decent profit from it, if that's what you want.
thanks for the help, just one more question, Im also looking to purchase this coin from the same seller it seems to be worth alot in circulated condition can you help me price this particular examplehttps://www.seizedpropertyauctions.com/images/users/47503-1.jpg
