I'm not sure which forum this belongs in so if it's considered General please move it for me. This vase has been in the family for a LONG time on my mother's side from Sacramento, Ca. It's about the size of a Coke Can and is a hand-blown vase with Gold Dust Flecks in the glass and was a wedding gift. My younger brother has the 1849 1/2 Eagle (Carved, Love Token) which was with it, but since my mom died we split everything up and this is what I got along with the little description. You can see the bright color painting on one side as that was the thing to do I guess back in the 1900's...

    Take Care

Maybe you should try to go to the antiques roadshow or an antique shop that deals in primarily in glass objects, they will be able to give you the history and whats its worth, not that you want to sell it.
    just a thought

Excellent vase, Ben, and it has a great history. I would imagine it is kept in a place safe from the cat.
