56th Annual Red River Valley Coin Club Show in Fargo ND Report

    Saturday I drove up to Fargo for the winter show sponsored by the Red River Coin Club. There was a decent crowd there, even young kids. They had a table for kids to get free coins.

    My main purchases were eight Canada Silver Dollars, got them for $12 apiece and an 1893 Columbus commemorative half dollar for $7. You can see them below:

    I also brought my bag of duplicate foreign coins and swapped some out. Most dealers are pretty good about letting me do that. Also the president of my coin club was there as he had a table. I was at the show for about 2 and a half hours. Overall a good day.

    Did you know that the 1958 Canadian Dollar created quite an uproar when it was released? That was because no one bothered to check on the significance of that particular totem.

    It's a "Death Totem"!
