Won this 38S at auction for my high grade FB Toner set. I was a bit disappointed when I received it, frankly. The reverse is wonderful, but the toning on obverse was not as pronounced as I hoped. I will likely replace and sell eventually. For now, it is still a very nice coin overall, with a nearly perfect strike (in addition to the FB, it has perfect lettering and greater detail in the hair). A few more pix to come . . .
The reverse of this 45S has the most intense blue toning I have ever come across on a Mercury Dime. The blue is even more bright neon in hand than the picture. The obverse is pretty nice as well, though more subdued.
Naturally toned from white over the course of two years—not sure what it is (maybe humidity), but I've had a lot of silver coins toning on me recently.
I just upgraded from an MS66 Micro S (bottom pic) to an MS67+ Micro S (top pic). these two coins must have been from the same lode based on the similar toning patterns and colors. The 66 has wilder toning, but the 67+ has much cleaner surfaces. I'm still waiting to find the perfect fb toner in 66FB, but the 67+ will do for now.
