I sold my first owl, which was in a little better condition, but I picked up this replacement today! I do not see the graffiti in these pics, or on the ngc website.... anyone else see it? Looks to be decent for the grade given, and it was cheaper than my first one!

Nice coin! Looks like the graffito is on the owl's chest. A letter perhaps?

I'm seeing it in front of the nose/forehead on the obverse. Either way, it doesn't look too substantial.

exactly, Mr Bond spotted it => there is a capital A or maybe a delta scratched into the obverse, in front of Athena (it doesn't really detract from the coin's coolness)

Oh, sweet new addition, jwitten (you have awesome taste, for a dude that buys slabs)

That never gets old, eh my coin-friend? (congrats on your new coin => it has sweet eye appeal, love the toning)

    It's a wonderful example!!!

And I still have trouble seeing more than a few light scratches on the obverse---but I wear bi-focal 'spectacles':)....... Jeez, that makes me sound as ancient as my coins:D

I will try taking better pics when it arrives, and see if the damage is more visible then.

Even if there is graffiti (which I cannot see), this is a nice coin. Are those 2 men standing on the trident on the reverse?

@Bing, I like your tetradrachm too!

Like my example, they depict the 'dioscuri'...

Thanks @Mikey Zee! I probably knew that once upon a time, but haven't collected Greek silver for over 10 years...see how the mind goes as we age:sorry:

I have just one which was part of a mixed lot, so although it lacks interesting features and isn't in great shape I can't complain about the price (~$15). If I ever buy a different one I'd go for something with an interesting secondary device.

Wow, great coins ... congrats, everyone!!

When I break-down and decide to buy one of these babies, I'm gonna try to get the best example of the obverse => man, I love Athena's helmet on these coins!!

    ... very cool

Kinda like my Pontos coin-avenue ... the griffin-helmet is fricken cool

Oh, and don't forget Sinope ...

    => griffins rock (gryphons too!!)

    ;)

jwitten => you have a fantastic griffin on your OP-example (full points, my slabby friend) ... or is it Pegasus on these New Tets? (either way, congrats on a cool example)
