Agreed and we have been chris but he seems to not want to heed our advice and act like we are the crazy ones for asking for a little perspective. If you can get through to him though more power to you
Thank you and if you think that there was anything else wrong with that Coin that was out of the ordinary I would show you a photo of it, I don't know if I was sitting on the beach in South Florida like I've done many times before and looking out over the ocean and if I see a fin in the water I don't have to see the whole shark to know it's a shark it's a shark I just thought with what perspective I gave you on the coins it would suffice, I do not need to see a whole bird to know what the birds but looks like but that's just me
It's a little bit different when it comes to coin collecting. Since "condition" is an important aspect, not only in determining value, but also when trying to analyze what may have occurred, it's to everyone's benefit to see the entire coin. After all, we don't want to steer someone in the wrong direction. Yes, it's the fin of a shark, but I don't know if it's the kind that will swim away as you approach it or if it will eat you. Chris
Look I agree what you're all saying is exactly right in your perspective and that's what makes us all different some of us like Cadillac some like Ford's and value is not an issue they are only die cracks and that is the purpose of the photos a good look at a dye cracked no more no less but I can understand your part you want more you want to over analyze the coin fo your own satisfaction and you guys do this to me every time someone looking through change has some idea what he may find no more no less and my fellow collectors when I percent a coin to you for an evaluation I will try to give you the best photographs possible and and and you will never hear me asked how much the coin is worth all the money we have is only worth what is printed on it, In error a coin is worth what someone is willing to pay for it
This is where you're wrong! Most of us are not trying to over-analyze. We are trying to determine the accuracy of your analysis. Like Rick Harrison has said on "Pawn Stars", "It's not that I don't trust you. I don't trust anyone." In the case of the nickel, I think you are wrong. I don't believe it is a die crack. I believe that the die has deteriorated to such an extent that the metal flow has affected the proper formation of the rim. That is the ONLY reason I asked to see a photo of the whole coin. So, like I made the mistake of forgetting that you don't have a regular camera, I'd like you to stop assuming what my intentions are. Chris PS. And, don't change the subject back to the dime. I don't care about the dime.
I have one of those USB microscopes too. It's just about impossible to get a clear pic of the whole coin. It has such a narrow field of focus.
Unfortunately, too many people think that the USB scope is all they need. Personally, I think a regular camera is more important than a USB scope. Chris
Speaking a pocket change, I just found a few 2016 pennies in my change. I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've ever found a new coin before at least February of the year.
See that's what I asked for then he posted the "full" dime pic for some reason. Now that's what you need to post with the closeups in the future. Those are decent and good enough for us to work with
The dime photo you're talking about is not even half of the coin. And if you haven't figured it out yet the old man's got a new toy and learning how to use it
My negativity in one of my earlier Posts. was uncalled for. I was always taught respect, especially for my elders, I am Sorry, and Thank you for your service.
Chris just a little advice concerning sharks all sharks will bite eve the most common and docile sharks known as sand sharks and nurse sharks believe me if they're not having a good day they can bite. Did you see that thing about freshwater lake in Australia on the golf course if you hit a bogey in the water the ball stays in the water because this freshwater lake has sharks in it known as bull sharks and like a gun always assume it is loaded the same with sharks always assume they will bite you.
