Welcome to the free enterprise system.... It is not what you ask it is what someone will pay for it... People do not have to be ethical or sleep well to be a seller. People do not have to be smart to purchase just have the money :)

  4. The people buying that stuff must not have Internet access. A quick Google search would find better prices on any items offered on HSN. He brags that they allow returns and offer "flex pay"... big deal.

I've just always been amazed that he can spout some of his crap with a straight face. But, it's the buyers own fault for not doing some research.

$180 for a $2.5 gold is a pretty dang good price if it is not a junk piece. Odd how the others are high, and that is low. Or is that 2.5 grams?

I'd bet that is $2.50 Gold Bullion

What is $2.50 gold bullion? If it is a $2 1/2 coin, it is almost always worth more than $180. If it is 2.5 grams, that's another story. Never heard of $2.50 bullion.

Me either, but If they are $2.50 Gold Coins I'll buy them :) Maybe 2.5 Grains Guaranteed Gold Plated :) :)

HSN's coin show is good for laughs. Sorry I missed it. Took my wife to see Barry Manilow on his final tour.

This marketing technique is not new, the advertising venue is a little different but this type of marketing has been around for decades in printed ads.

I know its hard for anyone with a little knowledge to believe, but they are extremely successful. I've purchased collections that were originally purchased from companies like you saw on HSN, most of the time the receipts are still with the products. Its sad to see people spending double, triple or more... But they do, I've seen it time and time again.

TV doesn't pay for itself. Many "experts" charge significant premiums. He gets creative but it is not really any worse than other "experts"

This type of EXPERT gives all Coin Dealers a bad name. They are Experts on a Marketing Con. Praying on the people who have little expertise to only find latter they paid way too much. Usually years latter :( People who are hit by these types do harm to our hobby by usually making their victims say WOW I was just HAD won't deal with any of these ppl. This is the Snake Oil Sales People of the 21st Century. Sure doesn't make me feel good knowing they exist.

When the people who buy from these crooks go to sell, they often think that the honest dealer is the crook for offering way less than they paid HSN.
