post a coin that you think is stunning, but that others go ehh ...

I know that taste in coins is pretty individualistic ... but I'm curious if others own coins that they personally drool over ... while others seem indifferent.

So post the coins you go ga-ga over, while others sneer.

This Walking Liberty Half rarely gets comments whenever i've posted it (on any board).

Not sure if many think it was cooked or just don't like this look in general. But to me it's just "fall over in your chair" beautiful -- but there must be something about it that is generally not liked by the collecting community. I suppose toning always brings out controversy -- and you either love it or hate it.

Let's see some other "controversial" coins.

If everyone liked the same things then why would there be Haagen Dazs, Ben & Jerry's and Bryers?

It's a bit unusual for sure.

 

It's a beauty. It's just been my experience that the vast majority of toning on walking Liberty halves is ugly. Also, many walker collectors prefer them blast white.

Maybe it's just that you post so many extremely flashy toners that this just gets lost in the shuffle.

 

I like the toning, other may think it is ugly though. Reverse is blast white. The coin looks way better in hand, these are old bad photos (the only ones I could find)

 

I love your Walker @WingedLiberty, I would take that over a blasting white one a grade higher any day!

 

This is residing in my 7070. This one spoke to me,others didn't like the toning. I love it though and matches my mint set franklin I have right next to it pretty good.

This is a good example. I like mercs a lot but, this looks cleaned lol

 

I really enjoy the 'No Stars' look of early seated dimes & half dimes. This half dollar has the same look at first glace.

I dont think proof Ikes are bad, atleast the design "pops" off the coin imho. Its the regular strike that makes it look flat and boring. Yours looks really nice.

Great looking coin, it oozes originality. I would challenge anyone to support an assertion that it has been cleaned... I'm always ready to be educated.
