While searching through some dimes the other night I came across a 1989 dime with a mint mark that was significantly lower than the others that have I seen. Have any of you seen this? I couldn't find any information on this.
does it make it any special that the punch is in consistent. I havent seen any other dimes earlier with this much of a difference
No, it doesn't. The mintmark is punched into the working die, so there can be thousands or more with the same placement. If you want to get an idea how far off they can be, then look at the P&D Kennedy half dollars from the 70's & 80's. Chris
