I was passing through a small town yesterday and noticed a coin shop on the town square. I parked, went in and asked the old guy behind the counter if he had any old, foreign paper money. He started telling me how he didn't keep any, it was worthless & not worth his time. I asked him what he did with it whenever came into his shop. He said he's been throwing it away since 1972! I mentioned that if he would simply put it up somewhere I would stop in regularly & buy it from him but he wasn't interested, claiming it would draw mice. Can you believe this guy?
Go to Wal-Mart or Lowe's or somewhere and buy a plastic box with snap-on top and see if he would use it to save the paper for you. Plastic keeps the mice away.
Why not ask much he would charge you to put a sign in his store, asking to buy the foreign paper money since he doesn't want it there? He makes some money without doing anything but pointing at the sign, and you get the goods.
In addition to what desertgem posted you might sweeten the deal with offering him a small finder's fee? Never hurts to ask.
You should probably discuss plastic and mice with a "farm boy". I believe an experienced farm boy can probably tell you many horror stories about mice and plastic. Mice love to "chew" through plastic. Don't ever install PEX tubing in a farm house infested with mice. I have been involved in replacing more security cable, PEX tubing, and communications cabling than you could possibly imagine.
