Hi everyone, My brother has a few ancient errors coming his way and, like a proud big sister, I just wanted to show them off. Unstruck flan (possibly for a widow's mite) Claudius Gothicus double strike Tetricus error Gratian double strike So much for saving up for college. lol Feel free to show off your errors Erin
I totally agree => errors and/or counter-stamps and over-stamps, etc ... => I love those coin-types as well!! (the more weird, the better!!) cheers, Johndakerftw
Interesting coins. Post your own images once you receive them. Tell your brother he ought to join the forum and post his own; however, if not, we are more than happy to see them through a third party (in this case his sister).
I appreciate error coins as well. My most recent error is this bronze of the Nabataean king Rabbel II. The coin didn't fully eject before the next one was struck, so the king ends up photo-bombing his queen. It's interesting that the hair detail we lose on the first strike is made up for by the second. You can also see where the double strike marred the reverse...
sweet coin, ro => what makes that cool coin an error coin? *edit* ... ahhh yes, I see the ol' double-strike (very neat)
Nice errors! Other than my blank Ptolemy flan, I have an off centre American penny. I would really like to get an over struck coin with some of the under strike still visible. My brother keeps a low profile online other than buying stuff. He doesn't have Facebook, Twitter or anything. He's rather shy that way. I would love for him to join the forum, but I don't see that happening. But, I'm more than willing to show off his coins. I'll definitely take some getting pictures of the coins. My picture taking skills leave a lot to be desired. Thanks everyone, Erin
Here are 2 coins of the Fallen Horseman series: The reverse of the first has a triple die-crack. The obverse of the second seems to have some sort of a die clash or another error !

VERY nice errors, Erin! They are great examples. I only have one... This is what it looks like beside a "Normal" strike of this issue... Roman Republic AR Denarius - DOUBLE STRIKE M Furius L F Philus 119 BCE 19.5mm, 3.9g OBV: M FOVRI L F, laurael head of Janus REV: Roma standing l, crowning trophy with carnyx and shield on each side, star above Roma, ROMA to r, PHILI (PHI) in monogram in ex. Crawford 281/1; Sear 156 (Normal coin on Right.)
neat errors everyone! i don't have any serious error ancients, some subtle double striking on a few. i have many overstruck byzantine coins, but those aren't errors really. here's a modern coin i have, this is clipped planchet (what modern folks call a flan) on a russian coin.
It is hard to remember what was shown last time we did errors so forgive if you have seen all these. Kroton stater with large die cud in center of obverse Constantius Gallus falling horseman of Siscia overstruck on Constantius II soldier with two captives of Aquileia Septimius Severus / Mars Pater flipover doublestrike
Wow! Thanks for sharing these awesome errors! I've always liked errors. I would really like to get a brockage someday. Good show! Erin
=> I agree with Doug ... hey, I'm never sure when I last posted my coin-examples, but actually, who cares eh? => I'm gonna continue to post these examples "just in case a newbie collector hasn't seen my junk!!" oh, and the fact that a lot of you older dudes might not recall seeing 'em before!! *whatev* Hey gang, here are some more of my error-type-ish coins ...
