Here are the before pictures and the after pictures. I had the coin back in hand in less than 2 weeks. Incredible service. Coin crossed over for grading with NGC. Any venture on the grade?
With the NGC grading fee at $30 conservation at $34 total with shipping about $75. as to the increase in value that is hard to say. Coin never would of graded before with the PVC and I really didn't want to try to get the PVC off myself fearing it wouldn't grade by NGC. As to value now, I looked through Ebay (found none even close to this grade for sale or sold). Checked Hertiage and saw an aucton for a 1919 AU55 NGC graded Walker go off for about $1250. Coin dealer offered me $600 raw. And BQ. Nice guess on the grade and Thanks...Here is the grade.
hmm, don't really see the pvc damage, but it must be there, i just don't see a lot of green in my pics
nice coin, and not a bad price. is $34 the usual fee to conserve? do you have to submit thru a dealer?
Hi Frank- They do a percentage of the value of the coin...1 percent to evaluate the coin and 3 percent to conserve. You put down the vaue of the coin on the form. They will change it if it is grossly inaccurate. I put down $850 for the value (Redbook value for an AU50 1919 Walker. You won't have to submit through a dealer if you are a member of the collectors society: http://www.collectors-society.com Here is NCS website: http://www.ncscoin.com. And thanks Bruce. I am very happy with the results and their service..They had the coin in hand on May 14. Had the grade from NGC online on May 24 and got the coin in the mail today May 26.
That was certainly money well spent! Glad to see that they conserved it, then put it in a regular NGC holder.
