What is a good book or other resource for continental paper money? I'm half interested in current values, but more interested in learning about the bills themselves from a collector's standpoint.
I still am tattering through my really old copy of Newman's book - which attests to the continued usefulness of it. Maybe he(at 104 years young) will come out with a new edition.
I couldn't find it on Amazon. They do sell out of print books, so I'm guessing this one is going to be hard to find!
You can find it on AbeBooks, here's a link for you http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?an=eric+newman&sts=t&tn=early+american+paper+money
Hey guys, thank you all. I did eventually find it on Amazon under a slightly different title. It's called, "Early Paper Money of America" by Eric P. Newman.
I found a great online reference for colonial coins and currency and Washington Tokens. http://rarebooks.library.nd.edu/digital/
