Great idea! Not that I'm greedy (well, maybe a little)...but since good luck comes in threes, I think I will be buying 3 new ancients
Hold on now...let me think this through with you. You are debilitated, basically bedridden, becoming more and more bored, with a computer, share my passion for the niche of ancients that I love, our collections to date generally COMPLEMENT each others'.... Oh, no: I sense intense competition coming! Naw, not worried. We both can play well in the same sandbox. Unfortunately, though... I DO run with scissors...
I hope you are feeling better! May that ankle heal (or should that be HEEL?) uneventfully and very well! Best to you.
I definitely won't be attending. I'm home recovering from a bad case of pneumonia and hopped up on antibiotics. Also the reason I haven't posted anything in over 72 hours.
A pic from last weekend's Bellaire Coin Show. I posted one of the kids auction in another thread. Hope you are feeling better now. Was that a sign you have spent too much on coins? I am sure that is what my wife would say. You can see her buying her first CSA note below. FYI, she paid 50% over face for the $10 bill.
No!! I can never spend too much on coins! I was an acquisition librarian for 35 years; buying and selling is in my blood. My husband understands this, and has actively encouraged me to collect ancients. His theory is that one will never loose too much financially if they collect money. Better than collecting stamps or beanie babies... Thanks for the photo @rrdenarius. Does the Bellaire show have many ancient dealers? The lure of US coins alludes me, but I am glad your wife found something of interest to buy at the coin show. Perhaps this will entice her to attend other shows.
My wife supports my habit too. However, she trying to build her own collection of "famous people" coins. I try to explain that most of these coins can be way overpriced due to casual purchases of non-collectors, driving up the price. LOL, now I am taxed with this mission for her. However, it is fun as I have landeda few famous people coins at reasonable prices, albeit not the best quality. She wants to pass her album down to the Grandkids...
That sucks... glad to hear you have gotten better. No coin show photos here but here's the only coin I bought at the most recent one I went to, the Ft Lauderdale Coin Club show back in September: Victorious
