Blurry images from the seller but I have a good feeling about this coin. Seems a bit better than F15 and the darkly-toned fields do a nice job accenting Lady Liberty.
Doesn't surprise me I picked up a 1849 h 10 1849/6 as corroded ...busted it out gave it a dunk in acetone and bingo a vf 30 specimen and not corroded at all just needed a little bit of loose dirt to come off.....sold it at par raw to a dealer friend who wanted the variety.
Grundy, VA? THAT brought back some happy memories -- one of the friends that got me through my freshman year intact was from Grundy. Never been there myself, but I know at least one good thing that came out of there.
Just made the cut with this one. Cherry pick on Ebay $48. 1957 D Washington Quarter NGC 66, unattributed on the holder, Variety FS-501 Misplaced Mint Mark. Sent in for crossover at PCGS back in November 2022. Results hit yesterday, it crossed. The current pop at PCGS is 2 in 66, with only 1 higher a 66+. I didn’t try to cross with the variety as rumors persist about varieties grading lower. I’ve already sold a 66 unattributed on the holder at $1,200, and reality is I’m just goofing around with coin play as I’m disinterested as of late.
I felt like I stole this one... after looking at others priced 1.5 x's this specimen. And no where near as nice..plus the neat pre cud strike. Im thinking a acetone soak this puppy going to look real sweet. Gander the mpd...
