Is this Doubling on the 2 in the date?

No, I don't think so. It's machine doubling =MD or die deterioration doubling =DDD

 

It may be hard to see, but the corner is actually raised and not really flat.

 

Yes, I see what you're saying in the photo. I believe it's a common anomaly. Wait and see if others chime in for their opinions.

 

What about a small die chip??

 

It's hard to see because you have too much light on it. I'm not sure.

Looks like Die Deterioration Doubling the way it is spread out from the 2 - but the other #'s should show some of that too! Here's a nickle I found roll searching a few days ago with DDD:

 

without the other numbers is what made me think is wasn't DDD.

 

Yeah - well every error or worn out die doesn't follow a rule book!
