Came across this one today. First roll out of the box too. Strong clash mark in the pillars and in "ted States of Amer", It is most definitely raised in the "MER".
Caused by coin roll machine. My opinion of course but I thought the same as well. Zinc Lincolns surely not the quality of copper. But again, my opinion. I have many lol. I do like it. Just going on my experience of comments. Lol!
It is not a circle of death. I though it was at first too. But the edges are raised. It is a weak clash, but it is a clash.
raised. That whole line is raised. weaker on the left side, but raised. The markings in the pillars are also raised. you can see how they match the reference photo I posted.
Hash it out one of you is right... The line from TED to STA does play into the equation. The mark in the 7th bay is not a clash.
You can see how his chin is in the 8th bay, and his neck is in the 7th bay lines up perfectly. Lines under the monument also line up perfectly with Abe's forehead. Oddly enough, I had to shift it off center, but everything lines up.
I could have had a buzz last night. I was looking at the clash wrong. It is more common to see the parralel at the bottom of the chin. Seen at the top of the 8th bay than the curve of the neck, and no chin.
Yes. Just was curious with the photo. It he said it was taken off centered. As you know I have posted many 98s. Zincolns as a few say lol. Thought ddo, ddrs etc.. nope, but a lot of MADs.
No, no, and nope, in my book. I readily admit my eye sight hasn't been the best, but I do not see any clash mark that lines up with the Culevier photo. Even it it is, NAV in my opinion, for what it's worth.
The Culevier photo is not correct. I shouldn't have posted it. I had to offset the obverse and it lined up perfectly to the marking on the reverse. the 7th bay is his neck, and the 8th bay is his chin. the lines under the monument is his forehead.
Yes, it is a misaligned die clash. I had to do the superimposed to show it. .gif of the clash for you.: https://imgur.com/a/3ajGmF2
