It's really a little to "new" to be included with my colonial collection (though that's where it is being kept for now) and a lil too old to be part of my civil war tokens.. but damn I'm happy with it for a 10 spot lol
Weaselbritches seems to be the king of cheap old coppers. He regularly gets a lot of bang for the buck.
Being a so-called “bottom feeder” has its benefits, when one has a sharp enough eye. You seem to find some decidedly non-junky stuff at near-junkbox prices. This ‘un’s got those teeny-tiny rim bumps at the top of the obverse, but otherwise, I see nothing wrong with it at all. Looks a solid VG+, to me.
In the end it's I buy what I like... somedays I pay too much.. in example 80 for a cleaned xf 8TF morgan... on the otherhand, I'm almost daily browsing through the LC and colonial offerings looking to fill holes in those lowball sets of mine, so it not too surprising (at least to me) that i catch a lot of nice cheap copper... so much of it is ignored by serious collectors but for me even a poor example in hand beats a picture of a perfect coin i could never afford
