I picked this up any views on worth ,and is it worth sending in to be conserved? Mintage 783,943 What would you grade it? It is slightly bent also see images.
With the damage I am not sure it is worth the grading fee's. I would swag it between $75 and $100 dollars. But I do not know a whole lot about gold - could be even higher. Just a wild swag - the last ex-jewelry on ebay went for 79 back in about 2004. So not really sure what this might bring.
JMHO I'd say too much damage to fix as it will still be a detailed coin unless a fortune was paid to fix it , and even then I don't know . Paddy is that solder over the top lettering ? Too bad as she's a nice coin .
Not really worth over $100 I would say. When I get ones like this, they sell better if you carefully cut off the jewelry area, and just leave a bad spot on the rim. Obviously you need to show and say the damage, but it looks better that way.
This one is VF+ details, polished with jewelry attachment welded to it. I'd put a chain on it and give it to your girlfriend/wife/mistress/daughter. If you send it in for grading, they will not put it in a holder with the loop attached. It is not worth spending any money to get it conserved - it will always be polished ex-jewelry. Might as well just use it for that now.
Seriously, Paddy? Conserved? to what? They won't remove the solder, reverse scratches, or the loop. Do you just want them to clean it? It won't increase the value
