In my defense, I only mention I'm a lawyer in 0.014% of all my posts. But remind me never to say it again. Ouch...
Or one mention per week Just having a little fun with it . Did you just recently pass the bar? If so, congrats!
That is a fantastic trilobite! I really dig fossils. I have a fossil fish, trilobite and Spinosaur tooth.I would love to have a stegosaurus fossil, but they're nearly impossible to find on the market and would probably cost an arm and a leg. I also love meteorites and have a piece of an unclassified NWA. Thanks for sharing! Erin
My kid said to me, I am made of the stuff of stars, I'm billions of years old! I said, yeah, but so is garbage, so calm down. Lol.
Awesome fossil Jeff, i think we have a few fossils on this forum. i have a few myself. the oldest thing i have which is found on Earth and is probably the oldest form of money is Gold nuggets.. they claim that they can be a billion years old. i have panned for them and have found a few small ones. not in this group.
Neat stuff. I have a Fossil Fourree on my wall in my office. A life size replica skull of Stan the Tyrannosaur from South Dakota. For the guy who has everything.
That was a very cool buy B.K! Very detailed fossil and interesting research as well thanks for sharing.
Wow! I was unaware that replicas could look that impressive, and it certainly avoids the importation hassles surrounding fossils these days. I'm also quite intrigued by your enlarged tetradrachm on the floor. It looks like would make "coin flip" decisions considerably more interesting/dangerous.
Hi. I just found these 2 fossils in the attic. They clearly include some sorts of fish. I remember I had too many of them which I happily offered to friends. In fact, they are very common here. They're found surprisingly in rocks at very high altitude of the mountains. Some on peaks of over 2 kilometers. Our professor used to explain their finding there so high, as a proof that these mountains had been submerged under the waters of the Huge Flood thousands of years ago.
I guess a lot of us have weird old crap lying about. Here is my assortment (of what I could find), trilobite, meteorites, tektite, etc.
Do I see some coprolites in there? I want to get one and make some cabochons for jewelry . "Ooooh, that's pretty. What is it?" "Fossilized poo"
My local dinosaur museum had a bunch of rocks brought in and you could go and dig for trilobites there. I found one that was about the size of an eraser head, went and showed it to one of the paleontology students and she exclaimed that it was the biggest ones she has ever seen! (apparently it's a very small species of trilobites). It was bigger than any they had in their museum, and it is a large museum. So I'm very proud of that very small one haha
