The 04 looks extremely baggy and possibly lightly cleaned. At least the obverse. A ms 60-61 I'd call it but real.

Where the devil did you come up with that link? I think I love you. I thought it had disappeared forever. Inquisitive, expert people have not been able to find that page for a couple of years. Wonder if they just reinstated it.

As many counterfeit coins that are on EBay, they probably got tired of all the complaints.

That's one way to handle problem coins. Glad that the fire department has not adopted that method.:wacky:

Jay at NGC was one of the watchdogs. I understand that Ebay stopped checking on coins people reported and abandoned the entire reporting system.

Yes and they let go the people that used to reply to reports received through that link, two women named Kathy and Tiffany. Kathy had sent an email out to a bunch of people that often reported counterfeit coins saying she tried to fight it, but eBay made the final decision.

I never bookmarked it or anything, nor knew anyone who did, and then it became impossible to link to from Ebay's site when CCW was disbanded. I wouldn't be surprised if you're correct on all counts.

Good for the forum! Idiot sellers like that need to realize that coin collectors don't appreciate fake sellers. Hopefully he'll get tired of having his fake listings removed and move on down the ramp!!

I reported 4 items. They were all $2 1/2 dollar gold pieces. I never saw a 1904 $10 Coronet Head piece.

All 4 of the ones I reported were very bad fakes. Not even worth explaining why.

Thank Goodness. When I opened the http/ it took me to 4 $10 gold coins that looked OK. That's why my comments as I couldn't believe any one would think they were C/F :0

When you report a coin you MUST explain why it is being reported. If all you say is that it's a fake your comment will be ignored.

That hasn't been possible for the last 3 years or so, until the link above reappeared.

I used the "Illegal Activity" category. There was no place to make comments.
