Coin Quiz 2: Match the coin with the location

@chrsmat71's recent two quizzes were fun but I found the first one a bit too easy. The geography quiz was a little harder.

Here's a variation: Instead of matching a coin picture to a place name, you have to pick out the place from a map of lettered dots. No city names are shown on the map. The coins are all from my collection. Perhaps for geographic variety I should have used some coins from other CoinTalkers.

I'm curious to see how everyone scores on this new quiz. Is it a just a little bit harder this way? A lot harder?

A beta tester noted that this test is impossible to view on a phone (thanks, @zumbly!) and I have added that warning. You'll need to take it on a laptop, large tablet, or desktop computer. Please let me know if you have technical problems with it, or any other suggestions! :)

Much harder. I only got 7 of the 15 correct. Big dummy. Where is my dunce cap and which corner would you like me to sit?

Don't feel bad, Bing :). I intended for it to be significantly harder and it was a bit cruel to use so many close-together coins from the Peloponnesus.

I should make a quiz for complete newbies, with questions like "Is this coin Roman or is it Greek?" That might be a fun thing and useful thing for beginners, since with this quiz host it is possible to put explanations and links after each submitted answer.

1300/1500 :) Thanks for the fun TIF.
The old IE on my desk top computer was not compatible with the test site. Had to switch to Firefox.

Edit to add: I just received my 5,000th like. Thank you to whomever & wherever it was. :) I suspect it was from TIF right here.

You are so funny :D. I suspect the times are changing and I am going to be trolling your leftovers soon. You certainly have a number of fantastic, rare, and unusual coins I was unaware of until you purchased them!

that's a good quiz TIF, map and coins all in one was how i originally planned to do it, but couldn't figure out how to make it work. i originally originally planned some type of drag and drop...but that ended up being way over my head.

map and coins all in one is definitely better.

much harder than mine, i got an 8 out of 15...that peloponnese cluster messed me up the most.

for a quiz on an ancient coin forum...i think yours is probably of more appropriate difficulty. they kind of aim for different "grade levels".

    my quiz....

The quizrevolution platform is better than most but doesn't have much capacity for customization. I'm not willing to pay flat or monthly fee for the ability to make these quizzes so I'm trying to work within the limitations. So many things I'd like to do... Too bad I know nothing about writing apps :(.

I shouldn't have had so many from that small area (Peloponnesus and western Asia Minor). An enlarged map of that area might have been a little more reasonable, and I recognize that the coins selected were a bit tough.

9, I now realize that I learned from Sear so I know, for example, where Sicily is and where Italy is but separating the dots in the Peloponnesus was beyond me.

Yah, it took me three tries to find Syracuse (question #1) .... ummm, and I have at least a dozen sweet examples from Syracuse ...

=> I am gonna skip the agony and give myself a zero (I may study and try to take the summer-school make-up test?)

11 out of 15 which was better than I thought I would do. If it was Black Sea I would have done better.
