I was playing around with quiz making on google forms and couldn't get things to work right. This is on quizrevolution.com, which is pretty cool for a freebie quiz maker. If you remember TIF's coins and members quiz a while back, she used this place...thanks for the idea TIF! Anyway, here is a Greek coins and regions quiz. I've been practicing this myself! Only 10 questions, so quick and dirty...just the way I like it! This isn't a very difficult quiz, the pros here will find it pretty dull. However, I made it for people who aren't ancient coin experts yet...like me! I used some pics from cointalk members (pish, stevex, Z, DS...that I can remember). If any of you don't want me using your pics just let me know and I'll remove them. If you see any mistakes, let me know and I'll fix. The first coin is a new coin of mine I haven't posted yet, so check it out. Have fun! http://www.quizrevolution.com/ch/a221548 Post your scores if you want...I got them all correct!
Ok, I've made some small improvements to the quiz. After you answer, it will tell you where coin is from. If any of you are interested in seeing a good map of ancient Greek areas, this guy has a very nice one... http://tjbuggey.ancients.info/greecemap.html He also has a cool site in general, hit his "return home" button and check out some of his stuff. If you want to practice your ancient geography...here's a quiz you can take on that as well! The focus is on coins that were in the coin quiz. http://www.quizrevolution.com/ch/a221550 Scroll down to see all possible answer options.
That was fun, thanks! 10/10 on the Greek coins, 8/10 on geography. Maybe I should have had coffee first
http://www.quizrevolution.com/ch/a221550 Chris added a second quiz, ~7 posts down in this thread. I liked both quizzes and am making one combining the two challenges-- match the coin with the dot on the map
don't feel bad @stevex6 my greek geography was (still is) horrible. since i only dabble in greek coins, all the names of place on these coins just blurred together. i realized i could recognize a coin as being from aegina...but i couldn't find aegina on a map without looking it up first! i'm starting to get it down. making the quiz was done mainly to help me learn.
