Hi all, Here is a new error note to add to my collection. Got it at a Coins-Stamps-Autographs shop I found in the Flatiron District here in NYC. The pictures are ok (sorry for the slightly blurred Front image) but it looks much better in hand! This is an Offset printing Error Definition - Offset Errors - All or some of the front printing is on the back of the bill or the back printing is on the front of the bill.
These are easy to fake with modern printers, beware of fakes. Would be worth getting verified as authentic by a TPG if you think it's real. Flatbed scans are better for imaging notes than using a camera, too.
I know this is a good one. The seller is a long time reputable dealer. He has some serious items for sale that I will be purchasing in the next few months. This is an Antique showroom with different booths all dedicated to valuable items. But thanks for your input
Fakes like these can fool the best dealers. Because they are so abundant it's worth sharing with readers to be on guard, even when buying from someone you know and trust.
paddyman98 A way in which you can satisfy yourself on the bills authenticity is use high power magnification to reveal the potential of dot matrix pattern, it is noted in Paper Money Errors 3rd edition that printing from todays printers that can complete this type of reverse image printing and is a fairly common practice and can even fool some 3rd party graders. I found these remarks rather interesting to say the least.
