    Nice find,most likely is a ground recovery and actually the crusty pinta makes it look uniquely attractive.

    There are still some nice things in circulation. I got a 1900 Liberty Nickel in a bank roll about a month ago.

    I would guess it was in a salty area. I've found nickels and quarters with this color patination on the coast of Maine

    Back when we had the Great American Coin Hunt, I put a few no-date buffaloes in rolls hoping one might turn up here.... That wouldn't be one of them.. Cool find!

    Under the ED, is a decent struck coin, but then most towards the end (1936-38) were.

    Neat find. My Dad just found one on the counter at the post office (also a 1936 with similar high grade details, but environmental damage, like yours).
