1966 Quarter Die Deterioration Doubling ?

    Had this in change jar and seen some doubling. I think it may be die deterioration but wanted to see what you all think. I see split serifs but some doubling is harder than others to determine for me so until I get the hang of it I need expert opinions 1966.jpg 19662.jpg 19663.jpg 19664.jpg 19665.jpg

    Yes, that is the classic bloated, distorted, blobular look of DDD.

    Yep, die deterioration doubling. Now try to find a 65 through 72 quarter in circulation that's from a fresh set of dies, and is problem free for whatever grade it may be in... Trust me it takes a lot of roll searching to find one!
